Free Spirit Enterprises is a consortium of friends united for certain purposes: the advancement of our creativity and to help bring our creative crafts to the world. The crown jewel of Free Spirit Enterprises is Nightmare Park, a seasonal dark attraction with a major growth potential.
Creativity MUST stand up by itself in the world today. Art for it's own sake cannot survive on its own without subsidy. Nor can art be bastardized to fit the masses. That negates the purity of it.
The trick to keeping art alive and vibrant is to find its place in the world where it will do its best. For example, the Dark Matter soundtracks could have merely stayed in Nightmare Park as our custom soundtracks. Those who listened to it saw immediate commercial potential and have told us so. Ergo, it was then manufactured and is selling nicely with rave responses all around. That is an example of the niche market it has found for itself.
On the whole, our other artistic endeavors have immediate application within Nightmare Park. Electronics, robotics and painted and other artwork has immediate application as well as original ideas. When they receive rave reviews and suggestions to bring them to market, they will become items sold under the Free Spirit Enterprises banner.
The Free Spirit Enterprises banner is NOT merely haunted house equipment. It is designed to cover a wide range of endeavors all around. Some other projects being worked on for the future include a pinball machine CPU for the Fireball pinball series made in the 1970's, This is a design offshoot of a generic CPU system which will power the Nightmare Park robotic systems and some sound and other control applications. One design application some years in the future is a magnetic levitation rollercoaster design being made in conjunction with Meyer Entertainment.
Any new ideas for the future will also be able to be evaluated and possibly manufactured if it is the correct thing to do.
Current news as of 1/1/09
The new year is upon us. It is a rough time for everyone. Yet it is also a time of opportunity for those who
can make their place in life.
Nightmare Park has been steadily progressing. For 2008, Nightmare Park has acquired the physical maze of the Haunted Cellar in Orange County. The original concept would be a 3rd or 4th year alien themed maze called Gyrotron. The CHAOS certification has also been achieved. For those of you not familiar with it, the state of Pennsylvania requires a seminar series and written test to be passed concerning fire and general haunt safety before a haunt is even allowed to open. California does not require this certification but may do so eventually. To this end, IAHA has put forth the CHAOS series, an intense safety seminar series.
The basic design of Nightmare Park was already well versed in safety, based on the writings of JBCorn. The changes made from the education of the seminar series are slight and mainly concern traffic flow in an emergency. So that is already a comforting thought that the basic designs and concepts will work for safety purposes.
We also now have an event organizer who can help wrangle the various logistics involving the charities working together for this. This helps solve a most important piece of the puzzle, a charity to adopt Nightmare Park as their Halloween fundraising activity.
And this is where you can come in, gentle reader. Are you in a theatre group or organized church or school group and interested in becoming a part of Nightmare Park with your friends? Please feel free to contact me at tony@nightmarepark.com for us to meet and talk.
