My rankings of “highest” will be based on the maximum vertical measurement between the road or railway deck to the ground or water below it. I am less interested in the World's “Tallest” Bridges which are a measurement of the tallest structural support or tower - the main component of the world's larger suspension and cable stayed bridges. To satisfy those who will also be interested in these structures, I will also include a category on the 50 bridges in the world that currently have piers or towers that exceed 600 feet (183 meters) in height.

As I am still in the research process of gathering information, I welcome any input you may have on obscure or unknown bridges - especially those outside Europe and the United States where information is difficult to come by.

My name is Eric Sakowski and I live in Southern California. For as long as I can remember, I have had a great interest in the aesthetics and design of large three dimensional structures and the forces that act upon them. This includes bridges, roller coasters, towers, skyscrapers, dams and all forms of building architecture. My other passion is my continuing career in film production in the greater Los Angeles area.
